As a Distribution Supervisor, you will supervise hourly personnel in the receipt, processing, packaging, storage, order filling and shipment of parts to Caterpillar dealers, Distribution Centers and Regional Distribution Centers to support the end users of Caterpillar equipment.
Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Must have strong organizational / planning skills and ability to effectively prioritize tasks to provide maximum benefit from available resources. The overall goal is to ensure efficient material movements with a “Safety First” mind set while maintaining a high level of quality and productivity.
Ensuring parts inventory is received, processed, and stored in a safe, efficient, and timely manner
Assisting office personnel to complete order processing by providing data on orders in process and resolving grief associated with orders
Responding to dealer calls and providing necessary information and assistance to complete orders
Contributing to the development of an effective work force by assigning, directing, and motivating employees to meet objectives
Knowledge and experience deploying continuous improvement tools such as 5S, KanBan, Six Sigma, and Lean by improving material delivery methods and increasing manpower efficiencies
Maintaining high employee morale by ensuring basic elements of work discipline are delivered
Contributing to the overall team productivity by taking ownership of the process and performing assigned tasks, normally performed by subordinates. (ex: filling orders, packing orders, or storing receipts, etc.)
Demonstrated skills in personal leadership, teambuilding, effective communication, and people development
Experience with Automated Guided Vehicles (AGV) and troubleshooting issues
Additional Information:
This position does not offer relocation
This position requires 10% or less travel.
This is a 2nd shift position
Flexible schedule, weekends, and supervising multiple shifts may be required
Starting pay for this role is $59,000 annually

Basic Qualifications:
Minimum of 2-year college degree or currently working towards a bachelor’s degree
1+ years of leadership experience
Minimum 1-year experience in at least one of the following: operations, parts ordering and/or inventory management
Working knowledge of Microsoft applications and ability to develop and analyze reports is required
Working knowledge computer management systems such as SAP WMS operating system, Exacta, and Autostore material handling system
Top Candidates Will Also Have:
Bachelor's degree
6 Sigma experience, green belt
Previous experience in a supervisor/team lead role
Working Knowledge of Business Objects and other Analytics tools are preferred, but not required
Previous experience with various purchasing and materials systems, receiving report processing, and state and federal shipping regulations
Good communication, interpersonal, organizational and collaboration skills
