We are looking for a dynamic, organized self-starter to join our Product Support and Logistics Division as a Senior Data Scientist – Global Logistics Procurement in Morton, IL.
The Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. In PSLD, as within all of Caterpillar, our priority is our customers and helping them build a better world. We touch nearly every element of the services value stream from procurement to design and manufacturing to distribution. PSLD is responsible for Aftermarket Parts Distribution of Cat Parts, Integrated Logistics, segment Procurement and the design and manufacture of Wear & Maintenance Components, e.g., Steel Products (Undercarriage and GET) and Specialty Products (Seals, Tubes & Hardware, Hose & Couplings, Fluids and Filters).

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Demonstrate a breadth of knowledge in the application statistical methods and/or digital methods to solve business problems
Demonstrate strong initiative to research and apply new methods to exceed customer expectations
Coach, mentor, or provide support to others in the creation, validation, and application of statistical models
Responsible for Strategic Planning initiatives within a Logistics Procurement Category
Manage department-wide projects and drive execution to accomplish division level goals
Participate on 3-4 projects concurrently
Bachelor's degree from a college or university
5 years of job related experience
Top Candidates Will Also Have:
Experience in advanced data analysis techniques such as R, Python, Machine Learning and/or SQL
Advanced Degree such as Master of Science/Engineering, Master of Business Administration (MBA) or similar
Comfortable gathering, interpreting, and presenting data to high-level management
Experience transforming companies through previously unused data
Experience with data visualization tools such as PowerBI or Tableau
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
This position does not offer relocation
This position requires 10% or less travel
